In the past poor heart conditions were thought to be connected to caffeine.
As of January 2016, a study was posted in the Journal of the American Heart Association. They researched the consumption of caffeine over a 12-month period and discovered that contrary to earlier findings, regular consumption of caffeine does not lead to extra heartbeats.
According to Gregory Marcus, cardiologist, and director of clinical research in the UCSF Division of Cardiology, believes the original recommendations advising against the consumption of caffeinated products have been unnecessarily discouraging which includes chocolate, tea, and coffee but it’s now believed these products could have cardiovascular benefits.
